چکیده
Thermal-energy storage systems consisting of multiple tanks allow the implementation thermocline-control methods, which can reduce drop in outflow temperature during discharging and increase volumetric density utilization factor. Multi-tank based on extraction mixing methods were assessed using simulations assuming fluvial rocks as material compressed air heat-transfer fluid. For adiabatic conditions, showed improved performance for all multi-tank systems, with diminishing improvements number increases. Numerical evaluation of multi-layered solid-PCM thermocline-like tanks as thermal energy storage systems for CSP applications
The two-tank system is the technology used for thermal energy storage (TES) in current concentrating solar power (CSP) plants. Thermocline storage concept has been considered for more than a decade as a possible solution to reduce the high cost of the storage system in these plants. In previous works, multi-layered solid-PCM (MLSPCM) thermocline-like storage tank configurations has been introdu...
متن کاملEnergy efficiency in a building complex through seasonal storage of thermal energy in a confined aquifer
Confined aquifers are formations surrounded by impermeable layers called cap rocks and bed rocks. These aquifers are suitable for the seasonal storage of thermal energy. A confined aquifer was designed to meet the cooling and heating energy needs of a residential building complex located in Tehran, Iran. The annual cooling and heating energy needs of the buildings were estimated to be 8.7...

Distributed Thermal Storage Using Multi-Agent Systems
Thermal storage is an essential concept within many energy systems. Such storage is generally used in order to smooth out the time lag between the acquisition and the use of energy, for example by using heat water tanks within heating systems. In this work we use a multi-agent system in order to maintain and operate distributed thermal storage among a large group of buildings in a district heat...
